ISSUE #299 (Joker 2 Flops, Megalopolis, & More)

In this upcoming issue of The Comic Section Podcast, we start by paying condolences to Doc Harris, beloved by anime fans as the narrator for the first English dub of “Dragon Ball Z”, who has passed away at the age of 76.

We discuss the surprisingly low box office debut of “Joker: Folie à Deux”, which grossed only $37.8 million in its first weekend. There's exciting news from DC Studios as Aaron Pierre has been cast as Green Lantern John Stewart in HBO's highly-anticipated “Lanterns” series, joining Kyle Chandler's Hal Jordan.

Sadly, Netflix's Greek mythology series “Kaos” has been canceled after its recent premiere, and Max’s adult animated series “Velma” will also not be returning for a third season. Meanwhile, Nintendo has announced a surprise piece of hardware with the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, an interactive alarm clock set for release in early 2025.

In anime news, “Dragon Ball Daima” is heading to Netflix shortly after its Crunchyroll debut. Additionally, Henry Cavill has been tapped to star in a live-action “Voltron” movie for Amazon MGM Studios, with plot details being kept under wraps for now.

In our coming soon/preview segment, we preview trailers for Warner Bros' “Companion” and Netflix's “Don't Move”. Finally, in our review segment, Ant, Rigel, and Comic Book John review Francis Ford Coppola's highly-anticipated film “Megalopolis”. Tune in!
