The latest episode of The Comic Section Podcast has arrived, and Issue #373 is loaded with the biggest headlines in entertainment, movies, television, and gaming.

From a Bon Jovi biopic in development to casting updates for the Baywatch reboot and exciting news about the Super Mario Galaxy animated movie, the crew dives into the stories currently trending across pop culture.

Bon Jovi Biopic in Development at Universal Pictures

One of the biggest entertainment headlines this week is the announcement that Universal Pictures has secured the rights to produce a Bon Jovi biopic.

According to reports, the film will focus on the band’s early days in New Jersey and their rise to global stardom. The story will follow the band through the creation of their breakout album “Slippery When Wet,” which featured massive hits like “Livin’ On A Prayer” and “You Give Love A Bad Name.”

Jon Bon Jovi is reportedly involved in the creative process and has granted filmmakers access to the band’s extensive music catalog, which should bring authenticity to the project.

Baywatch Reboot Adds Shay Mitchell to the Cast

Fox’s upcoming Baywatch reboot continues to build its cast ahead of its planned 2026–2027 broadcast season.

Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell has joined the series as Trina, a former lawyer who leaves behind a prestigious legal career to become a lifeguard.

She joins Stephen Amell, who will play Hobie Buchannon, the grown son of David Hasselhoff’s iconic character from the original series. The show will also feature Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Brooks Nader, and Noah Beck.

Fans of the original show will also see a familiar face return, as David Chokachi reprises his role as Cody Madison.

Donald Glover Joins the Super Mario Galaxy Movie as Yoshi

Nintendo fans received a major casting reveal during a recent Nintendo Direct livestream.

Actor and musician Donald Glover has officially been cast as Yoshi in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie, the animated sequel expanding Nintendo’s cinematic universe.

The cast also includes Luis Guzman as Wart and Issa Rae as Honey Queen, adding even more star power to the anticipated film.

Seth MacFarlane Says Ted Season 3 Is Unlikely

In television news, Seth MacFarlane revealed that he currently has no plans to develop a third season of the Ted television series.

According to MacFarlane, the main reason is the high production costs associated with the Peacock series. However, fans of the franchise may still have something to look forward to, as an animated Ted spinoff is reportedly in development.

Family Guy Universe Expanding with Stewie Spinoff

The Family Guy universe is expanding even further.

Fox and Hulu have officially ordered two seasons of a Stewie-centered animated series, which will follow the Griffin family’s evil genius toddler navigating preschool life while continuing his adventures through time and space.

The series is expected to premiere during the 2027–2028 season.

Timothée Chalamet Sparks Debate with Opera and Ballet Comments

During a public discussion about the future of movie theaters and entertainment, Chalamet made remarks suggesting that some traditional art forms struggle to maintain mainstream relevance. The comments quickly sparked debate among artists and fans alike.
