Daredevil: Born Again Ending With Season 3, Stephen Amell Teases Green Arrow Return & The Batman Part II Begins
After celebrating 400 episodes, The Comic Section Podcast is officially starting its journey toward Issue #500.
And Issue #401 begins with some major Marvel and DC news.
This week, we're discussing the reported end of Daredevil: Born Again, Stephen Amell sending Arrow fans into speculation mode, our first official image from the set of The Batman Part II, Disney bringing back Darkwing Duck, new trailers, and Shawn's latest reviews.
Daredevil: Born Again Will Reportedly End With Season 3
Charlie Cox's latest run as Matt Murdock appears to have an ending in sight.
The upcoming third season of Daredevil: Born Again is reportedly set to be the Marvel series' final season.
The news is especially surprising considering how much work went into bringing Daredevil back.
Following the cancellation of Netflix's original Daredevil, Cox gradually returned to the character through MCU appearances before Born Again gave Matt Murdock another full television series.
Now the question becomes whether three seasons are enough.
There's also a major behind-the-scenes change, with showrunner Dario Scardapane departing the series while Season 3 moves through post-production.
But even if Born Again ends, that doesn't necessarily have to mean the end of Charlie Cox's Daredevil.
Matt Murdock has become firmly established within the larger MCU, giving Marvel opportunities to use the character in movies and other television projects.
Could ending Born Again simply represent the end of one chapter?
We discuss it on Issue #401.
Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery Merger Moves Forward
One of the entertainment industry's biggest corporate stories is moving closer to completion.
Paramount Skydance's massive merger with Warner Bros. Discovery has cleared a major obstacle after reaching a settlement with state attorneys general who had challenged the deal.
The combination has the potential to dramatically reshape Hollywood.
Beyond the enormous financial numbers involved, we're interested in what consolidation on this scale could eventually mean for the creative side of the entertainment business.
What happens to the movies?
What happens to television?
What happens to streaming?
And most importantly for audiences, how does an entertainment company this large affect what we eventually get to watch?
Is Stephen Amell Returning as Green Arrow?
Stephen Amell knows how to get DC fans talking.
The actor, who played Oliver Queen across eight seasons of Arrow and multiple Arrowverse crossover events, shared a mysterious social-media post featuring a sketch of a hooded archer.
The image was accompanied by music closely associated with Arrow and the caption:
“Just when I think I'm out…”
That's enough to get any longtime Arrowverse fan asking questions.
At the moment, the tease doesn't automatically mean Amell is officially returning as Green Arrow.
But if he is preparing to put the hood back on, where would Oliver Queen fit?
Could this be an Arrowverse-related project?
A cameo?
Something involving DC's larger multiverse?
Or is Amell simply having some fun with fans?
Until we get an official answer, the speculation continues.
Matt Reeves Reveals The Batman Part II Set Image
Gotham is calling again.
Matt Reeves celebrated Batman Day by sharing the first official image from production of The Batman Part II.
The shadowy image features Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader and serves as another reminder that, after years of anticipation, Reeves' sequel is finally moving forward.
The first Batman established a dark, grounded version of Gotham that Reeves later expanded through The Penguin.
Now attention turns back to Bruce Wayne.
What has changed since the first movie?
Who will Batman face?
And just how far will Reeves push his interpretation of the Dark Knight?
We're ready to find out.
Darkwing Duck Returns
Let's get dangerous.
Disney is bringing Darkwing Duck back for a new generation.
The animated revival has assembled a voice cast led by Mark Hamill as Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck, Seth Rogen as Launchpad McQuack and Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn Mallard.
The original Darkwing Duck became a beloved piece of Disney television animation and remains a major nostalgia property for fans who grew up watching the series.
The challenge now is finding the balance between honoring that history and creating something that works for younger audiences discovering these characters for the first time.
And with a voice cast this unexpected, we're definitely curious.
Batman: Knightfall Part 2 and More Trailer Reactions
Our Coming Soon/Preview segment includes three new trailers:
The Further Mis-Adventures of Clint Booth
Netflix's Sacrifice
and
Batman: Knightfall Part 2
We're particularly interested in seeing the next chapter of the animated Knightfall adaptation as DC continues tackling one of Batman's most famous comic-book sagas.
The End of Oak Street and Lioness Season 3 Reviews
Finally, Shawn takes over the Review segment.
He gives his thoughts on The End of Oak Street before breaking down Lioness Season 3.
How does the latest season compare to what came before?
What's working?
What isn't?
And is it worth adding to your watchlist?
Shawn gives us his verdict.
Is Three Seasons Enough for Daredevil?
That's our big conversation for Issue #401.
Marvel fought its way through years of changes to bring Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock back.
Now Daredevil: Born Again is already approaching its conclusion.
But perhaps the bigger question isn't whether the show should continue.
It's whether Daredevil himself should.
Would you rather see Season 3 provide a definitive ending?
Should Marvel continue Born Again?
Or should Charlie Cox graduate from his solo series and become a recurring character across the larger MCU?
Let us know.
